Jerome Billard came back to his family domaine in 2003 from stints at Petrus and Dominus in California. Thankfully, the identity of the wines has not been diluted by these experiences and new oak use at the winery is minimal. The winery itself is situated at one of the highest points of the region and is the oldest continuously farmed domaine in Chinon. The winery is certified organic and all vineyard plots are surrounded by woodland, maintaining natural biodiversity. The ‘Pierre du Tuf ‘ still ferments in a Tuf vat dug in to the winery’s cellar.
