Stephan Tissot PMG Vin de Paille
Tissot is one of Jura’s leading wineries. This is basically a Vin de Paille, (straw wine– where the grapes are dried on straw mats) but it is too low in alcohol to meet the strict rules. It is very sweet—500 grams of residual sugar! PMG stands for ‘pour ma gueule’ (for my gob). Copyright RobertParker.com: “The nose is explosive with notes of raisins, dried cherries, spices, and a touch of pollen and smoke. Sweet and intense, this is thick as motor oil; the sugar makes your teeth ache. This is very unusual, but certainly outstanding. “ 96/100 points.
