Berthaut Fixin 2012
The Burgundian appellation of Fixin is found in the northern part of the region around the towns of Fixin and Brochon.
The wines made by Denis Berthaut are quite
traditionally styled, with wonderful purity and a finesse that is often lacking in Fixin. What’s more that are fantastic value.
The vines are 40-50 years old on average and as such naturally limit their yields. Oak use is restrained, and extraction is light in touch. The result is clean, vibrant and classy. Most Fixin is pretty
agricultural in style but not this. Refined, silky and complex.
