We love Chateau Cissac, a Chateau that still makes traditional Bordeaux without too much oak influence, and their pricing is very fair too. Cissac is a Cru Bourgeois, based quite far North in the Haut Medoc. It has long been a well known and popular wine in Britain and makes delicious, traditional middle weight clarets.
2001 was a very good, sometimes overlooked vintage vintage. Ripe lifted nose of cassis and cedar. The palate is medium bodied but has rich blackcurrant fruit, earth and acidity. Maturing nicely.
Grapes: Cabernet sauvignon 67% Merlot 28% and Petit Verdot
