Chateau Coing Muscadet Sevre et Maine Sur Lie 2015
Muscadet is a very dry white from the Loire Valley, made from the grape Melon de Bourgogne. Sur Lie indicates that the young white wine has been left on its lees (the fine deposit left after fermentation) for a period of time before bottling.
Light, tangy, almost salty, with crisp citrus flavours, while the lees ageing adds a bit of complexity and richness. Muscadet is good as an aperitif but should ideally be drunk with seafood; particularly oysters and mussels.
