Seuil de Mazeyres 2012
Pomerol is the smallest of the Bordeaux appellation, which is unfortunately often reflected in the price. However, it is possible to find good quality AND value Pomerol, such as this one.
This is the second wine of Chateau Mazeyres, a 22ha estate on soils consisting mainly of mix of clay, gravel and sand favoured by Merlot.
Dark cherries with a hint of spice on the nose. Quite subtle and elegant on the palate, with black fruit and fine tannins. This is drinking well now or keeps for a few more years.
Grape: 80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc
