Badoz Vin Jaune 2011
This is one of the wine world’s rarities, and we absolutely love it. Made from the Savagnin grape in the Jura region of South eastern France, it is a little bit like a fino sherry but with a richer, fuller quality. It comes in a fun sized bottle too - 62 cl, called a clavelin.
On the nose nuts, curry and white flowers and a burnt candied citrus quality. The palate is exceptionally rich and creamy with honeysuckle, quinine, peach and a salty tang, Challenging but rewarding!
Try it with aged comté, or lobster if you’re feeling flush.
