Artuke La Condenada 2016
This is only the second vintage of La Condenada from Artuke with only 1,000 bottles made. Artuke are making site specific wines in a region that generally obliterates these nuances through oak use and blending.
This is from a single, sandy site at 520 metres altitude in Banos de Ebro. The vines here were planted in 1920 and are a blend of 80% Tempranillo, 20% Garnacha, Graciano, Cagazel (related to Palomino) which are fermented together in 600 litre oak barrels.
La Condenada show wonderful freshness and balance. There is a floral perfume to the wine, which is elegant with fine integrated tannins.
