Gonzalvez Point G 2016
Winemaker France Gonzalvez is a true character and the wines continue her irreverent personality. She labels them all "Vin de France" even though that is a legal term describing effectively a Vin de Table, and her wines are technically Beaujolais Villages AOP. She claims that this is fine because she is called France, and she has been using it for a while, but does admit that the French customs police have mentioned it...
This is from granite soils in Blacé and is picked later and with two thirds of the wine being aged in older oak. The wine is more structured here with more depth and concentration and just a little more serious.
