Chantal Remy Chambertin Grand Cru 2011
A hidden gem of a winery—quite unknown but making soft and silky wines that age well. In 1989 Lalou
Bize– Leroy purchased the Philippe Remy estate and the Remy name disappeared from the Burgundundian landscape. A branch of the family remained in Morey St Denis with wonderful vineyards in the village Aux Cheseaux. Philippe’s niece Chantal took over the winery in the 90’s and is making a wonderful reputation for her wines.
A remarkably open, scented Chambertin; compelling red berry, loganberry, sloe and cherry blossom fruit characteristics, bright, crisp and linear yet generous. Serious yet opulent. Charming and handsome. Every bit the complete Grand Cru. From the northern part of Chambertin where the wines tends to be particularly refined in style.
Region: Burgundy, France
Grape: Pinot Noir
