Hudelot Baillet Chambolle Musigny 1er Cras 2013
Hudelot-Baillet is relatively new Domaine by Burgundy standards, having started in 1981. They’re very rarely seen outside France and they’re quite an exciting discovery for us. Neal Martin, Robert Parker’s European correspondent voted their village level Bourgogne as the best 09 at that level that he tasted, so look out for the rising star of this estate.
Alex Hunt MW : Marked by honeycomb wood on the nose, though the palate has some good mineral precision and a genuine limestony elegance. Let’s hope that side wins the day...
