Horst Sauer Esherndorfer Lump Sillvaner 2017
The region of Franken, in Bavaria, Eastern Germany produces fantastic wines ferom the Silvaner grape. Silvaner is fuller-bodied, less aromatic, drier and earthier than other German grapes, like Riesling and Muller Thurgau. It also has a mineral raciness.
The flask like bottle of Franken is known as a bocksbeutel or 'buck bag'
The Am Lumpen vineyard is one of Horst Sauer's most premium single vineyards, and has been referenced, for producing wine since 1655 - that's a lot of wine!
A powerful Silvaner with citrus and floral aromas with a savoury minerality on the palate.
Region: Franken, Germany
