La Lagune 2003
La Lagune is a real wine lovers wine—never an
investment property it consistently produces a dense, powerful wine that needs a few years to soften and integrate. This is down to the regular use of a good proportion of Petit Verdot and plenty of new oak. We l find mature La lagune is often great. 2001 was the first vintage for Caroline Frey, one of Bordeaux’s bright young oenologists.
Robert Parker: “Reminiscent of a premier cru from Beaune, the 2001 La Lagune reveals aromas of sweet and sour cherries, cedar, and balsam wood with toasty oak in the background. Medium-bodied, elegant, and refreshing”
