Guasti Clemente Barbera Barcarato 2000
Guasti Clemente have been making wines in Piedmont since 1946 and make traditionally styled wines from nearly all of the local grape varieties. They pioneered the concept of single vineyard Barbera - yet are almost completely unknown outside the region.
Rich and ripe dark fruit aromas blend with a hint of lifted floral notes and smoky cigar box. The palate is soft but dense with lashings of blackberry, plum and black cherry fruit flavours, spicy oak and smoky notes. 2000 was a rich vintage, and this has tons of concentration and is now drinking perfectly.
