So what's this Sampling all about?
Have you ever bought a bottle of wine home for dinner that had a great looking label, and a tempting tasting note only to be disappointed? At the Sampler, you will never be disappointed again as you can try before you buy.
We have installed ten Sampling Machines (shown below) around the shop which serve tasting samples. With prices for a sample starting at just 30p for a sample of Fino Sherry, it need not cost a fortune to try a wide range of styles.
The wines on sampling reflect the wines stocked in our shop, with something to appeal to all tastes and budgets. Indeed, if you visit our Icons machine it will enable you to try some of the most expensive and highly sought after wines in the world without having to remortgage the house to buy a bottle!
There are three chilled machines for white wine, six for red wine, and one for our Wine Icons, giving a total of 80 wines available for tasting at any time. We change all 80 of our wines every 2 - 3 weeks so every visit is guaranteed to bring new wines to you.

Here's how it works:
- Come to the Store!
- Register for a smart card and charge it up with
at least £10 tasting credit
- Grab a tasting glass
- Put the card into the sampling machine of your choice
- Press the button above your choice of wine and a sample sized portion is dispensed. (The price for each sample is displayed above the wine)
- Try the wine
- Spit or Swallow
- Try another...or buy a bottle or case if you really loved the wine you just tried
To sample on another machine simply remove your card and repeat steps 4 to 8!
Any money left on the card can be refunded at the till, or left for another days sampling.
Why not buy a Sampler Card as a gift?
The cards can be used as gift vouchers enabling the lucky recipient to not only come in to the shop to sample, but also to use the credit to purchase wines, accessories or tutored tasting sessions.
