Ridge Monte Bello 1997 Montebello is the wine that introduced Ridge Vineyards to the world. It is a Bordeaux blend of Cabernet and Merlot grown south of San Francisco in Santa Cruz mountains where the elevation of the site gives good structure and elegance to the wines. Montebello 1971 recently won the rematch of the 1976 Paris Tasting beating the first growths from Bordeaux and all other Californian wines.
