L'estagnere Rouge 2009 Based in the south of France in the Languedoc Roussillon, L’Estagnere is a ‘Vin de Pays de la Cité de la Carcassone’...phew, what a mouthful! It’s named after the walled city of the same name. Made from 100% Cabernet Franc, which is quite unusual for this part of the world.
Ripe black fruit aromas on the nose hint at the warmer climate of the area. There is a touch of the green stalk character which dominates Cabernets from further north as well as a herbal, garrigue note. Medium bodied on the palate, with ripe tannin and fruit and a spicy lift.
Grape: Cabernet Franc
