Emile Balland CroqCaillotte 09 This is one of Sebastien’s finds from his recent trip to the Loire. Emile Balland owns 5ha of vineyard, but only 1ha is in Sancerre - and only 0.88ha planted with Sauvignon Blanc. So this is truly a limited parcel!
Xavier reliably informs me that Croq Caillotte means munching quail. But I don’t know if that is a quail eating someone or someone eating a quail...
Classic Sancerre - crisp and minerally with zesty acidity. Surprisingly weighty on the palate with great length. Mmm quail!
