Grandes Costes Sarabande 2008 Domaine Les Grandes Costes, La Sarabande 2008
Family-owned since 1868 the winemaker, Jean-Christophe Granier, took over in 2000 and the property now covers 12 hectares and grows four typical Mediterranean varieties; Carignan and Cinsault, Grenache and Syrah. The vines are between 20 and 50 years old and produce elegant wines with a great spiciness.
Named after a slow but playfull dance this wine unusually sees no oak influence but is aged for 20 months in a homemade ‘Patina’ in order to preserve the natural grape flavours. This wine uses all four grape varities planted at the Domaine.
Grapes: 30% Syrah, 26% Grenache, 25% Cinsault, and 19% Carignan
Alcohol: 14%
