Birgi Rosso 09 Over the last few years Sicily has really made a name for itself by producing good quality wines at low prices. This one is produced by a co-op of over 1000 growers based in western Italy in a state of the art winery. The rosso is a blend of native varieties - Nero d’Avola and Frappato with a dash of Sangiovese for good measure.
Medium bodied with masses of sweet fruit flavours - red cherry and strawberry. Extremely soft, this slips down all too easily. A great party wine.
