Trevallon Blanc 2004 Domaine de Trevallon began very romantically when Eloi Durrbach’s parents bought a holiday home in the Southern Rhone. After finishing an architecture degree, Eloi headed there with a vision for making fine wine. His philosophy is simple, ‘my rule is to handle my wine as little as possible.’ More famous for his Syrah/Cab Sav blended reds, he also makes interesting whites using Marsanne, Rousanne and a little Chardonnay.
Quite a rich nose with fresh apricots, orange peel, a touch of honey and a savoury mineral note. Fat and full on the palate, lovely oily texture, balanced acidity and spice, savoury and long, what a wine!
Grapes: Marsanne dominated blend
