Zohar Tannat 2009 The Zohar range is produced by Susana Balbo, Argentina’s foremost female oenologist. Her winery—Dominio del Plata produces a wide spectrum of wines of the highest standard, but the Zohar range is more entry level and makes the most of lesser known varietals such as Tannat and Torrontes.
Tannat is tricky grape, which in its French homeland often makes highly tannic, unapproachable wines. Here though, the combination of geography , climate and modern vinification methods yield an opulent wine with juicy, succulent fruit. Plenty of concentration but no nasty grippy tannins
