Allegrini Amarone 2007 Amarone is a very unusual wine made in the Veneto area of Italy. The grapes are picked when they have optimum ripeness and are then dried on racks in the winery for approximately 3 months. This dries out the grapes, turning them into raisins, which concentrates the sugars and flavours in the grapes. The resulting wine is very powerful and deep with loads of complexity. Allegrini are one of the top producers.
Incredibly dense and rich with flavours of dried fruit, chocolate and spice. The palate is velvey smooth and complex with a lingering finish. A real blockbuster.
