Ant Moore is an Aussie winemaker who worked in NSW and in Oregon before taking a job in Marlborough at Isabel Estate—one of our favourite Kiwi wineries. In 2009 he set up his own eponymous label, of which this is one. The Pinot Gris is sourced from grapes in Marlborough’s Waihopai Valley from Ant’s own ‘Ant’s Nest’ vineyard.
Pinot Gris is New Zealand’s up-and-coming white variety and this one is a real stunner. Dry and refreshing with a lovely richness on the palate balanced by zingy minerality. Great value.
