Vinha Paz Colheita 2009 Vinha Paz are one of our new finds from Portugal. They are based in the Dão region and have been growing grapes for many years. However, it was only in 2000 that they started marketing their own wine. All of the grapes are handpicked and are then foot trodden in lagares before fermentation - very traditional.
The colheita is a blend of Touriga Nacional, Tempranillo, Alfrocheiro and Jaen (otherwise known as Mencia for all you Spanish wine fans). Medium bodied and full of fresh ripe fruit flavours with just a touch of oak spice. Delicious Portuguese red - and a bargain!
