Egon Muller Scharz Spat 1995 Egon Muller Scharzhofberger Spatlese
Now this is Riesling! For us, nothing beats the wonderful wines that come out of the Mosel in Germany, particularly when they have some sweetness to them and a decent amount of age. On top of that to many Egon Muller’s Scharzhofberger is the greatest example of Riesling in the world.
Classic nose of petrol and satsuma with honeysuckle, sweet spice, layered with a delicate hint of pineapple. The palate has an elevated minerality, along with the sweet fruit. Dense, juicy and long on the finish, with lovely refreshing acidity.
