Ad Hoc Chardonnay 2009 Pemberton in Western Australia is an up and coming part of Australia that has become synonymous with more cool climate conditions. Larry Cherubino is an accomplished winemaker there and has increased the exposure of the area by producing gung-ho wines. The back label of this wine boldly states it is an ‘OAKED CHARDONNAY’, a message that in recent times would deter some people. We on the other hand think that it gives the wine a generous weight and lovely creamy flavours.
Melon and peaches on the nose with hints of nuts and nougat. The palate has a great mouth feel with grapefruit and a slight funkiness. Very enticing.
