This wine is like a dessert in a glass. ..step away if you don’t have a sweet tooth. Based in Alsace, Weinbach are a renowned biodynamic producer making a range of wines. This is the Quintessence—the ’nectar of nectars’. Made only in a few vintages when conditions are perfect and only in tiny quantities. This is Weinbach’s greatest and rarest wine—indeed we had never seen a bottle before this arrived.
Rich and syrupy—but with incredibly well balanced acidity, so this is in no way cloying. Concentrated and intense and brimming with flavour—caramelized apricots, passionfruit, peach, tangerine and spice are just some of the descriptors that come to mind. The finish is almost never ending. A dessert in itself.
