B de Basilio White 2010 Basilio Izquierdo is renowned as one of the greatest winemakers in Rioja and worked as head winemaker at CVNE for over 30 years and was responsible for creating Contino. In 2007 he decided to set up his own project, sourcing the very best grapes from across the Rioja DO to produce his handcrafted wines. We are very excited to be the first to import these wines.
This is an extremely unusual white Rioja made from mostly Garnacha Blanca—not the standard Viura. Fermented and aged in oak barrels this is a rich, full bodied white but nicely balanced by zesty acidity. Flavours of white currants, peach and green apple as well as smoky, spicy notes and creamy texture.
