Ata Rangi Crimson 2010 Crimson is the ‘entry level’ wine of Ata Rangi – one of New Zealand’s premier producers of Pinot Noir. Based in Martinborough, winemaker Clive Paton aims to make wines that are expressive and vivacious and the estate’s top wine consistently scores well amongst critics. We have found the Crimson to be a good reflection of the house style at a more attainable price.
Typical red berry Pinot aromas on the nose with good definition and floral notes developing gradually as the wine stays in the glass. There is a lovely focus to the wine which has a medium-bodied palate and plenty of well-defined redcurrant, cranberry and cherry fruit. A great introduction to the Ata Rangi style.
