Mathieu Tijou is part of a winemaking
dynasty in the Anjou region of the Loire. His predecessors have in turn owned various
famous vineyards in the central Loire, but Eperonniere is pretty new, having only been planted in 2001.

This is an elegant, mineral and lanolin scented wine with a slightly waxy, honeyed palate. The acidity here is really bracing and typical of Savennieres. This is a lovely
example of the appellation’s wines with
elegant yet concentrated fruit character that will age for a very long time.
