Heinrich Zweigelt 2009 Heinrich are based in eastern Austria, almost on the Hungarian border. Whilst the family has been making wine for 300 years it is only over the past 20 years that they have hit the headlines for making some of Austria’s greatest red wines. Zweigelt is Austria’s most planted red grape, a cross between St Laurent and Blaufränkisch.
Decanter: “Brisk, baked red fruit nose, then a herbal, chewy, well made and ample palate. Soft and forward in style, with fine acidity and a hint of refreshing greenness on the finish. Superb.”
