Grahams Crusted 2003 Crusted port is a particularly British style of port. It is made by blending several years of young ports together which are then bottled without filtration (the date then refers to the year of bottling). The port is then matured in bottle for a further 2-3 years before sale. The ‘crust’ refers to the sediment that occurs in the wine—a result of no filtration and bottle age. Crusted port can be seen as a cheap alternative to vintage and needs to be decanted.
Decanter: “A fine wine with a lovely deep nose of powerful and robust fruit. Lovely pure berry and plum flavours with a wonderful length.” Gold medal 2011
