Mas del Perie Escures 2012

Yet another find from Sebastien. Cahors is a small appellation in SW France where Malbec is the main grape variety. The winemaker here is a bit of a character with a full-on bushy beard and slight revolutionary tendencies. When the AOC authorities told him to pull up his Jurancon Noir vines he went and bottled it by itself and named it ‘You F*** my Wine’. Yup, that’s our kind of winemaker—and that wine will be on the shelves in the Spring. Until then, you can make do with this lovely Malbec.

Lovely lifted fruit on the nose—very inviting. The palate is deep and full bodied, but has a silky texture and lots of sweet berry fruit along with some oak spice. Brilliant value.
