Mioula Terres D'Ors 2008 This is another of Jamie and Sebastien’s finds from their recent trip around SW France. Marcillac is a region known for its red wines from the Fer Servadou grape variety—but here is an unusual white wine. This is a blend of 50% Chardonnay, 25% Muscadelle and 25% Chenin Blanc that has been aged in oak.
This has a really intriguing nose of stone fruits, honeysuckle and crème caramel. The palate is soft and round with a lovely creamy texture balanced by zesty acidity. Unusual and appealing.
Grapes: Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Muscadelle
750ml Vintage: 2008 |
