Patrice et Michele Rion Chambolle Musigny Les Cras 2013
Domaine Rion was started by husband and wife team Michele and Patrice in 1990, when Patrice was still running his family domaine Daniel Rion. They now work with their son Maxime, who studied oenology both in Bordeaux and New Zealand. Their philosophy in to create wines that are “clear, precise and complex”, and we think they’ve done a pretty fine job of expressing all the purity and delicacy of very fine Chambolle-Musigny.
A seriously vibrant nose of redcurrant and raspberry, with a delicate floral edge. The palate is crisp and clean, with bags of fresh red berry fruit, supple but present tannin and well-balanced acidity. This is indeed a precise and pretty wine, with real finesse.
