Domaine De La Noblaie have been cultivating vines for more than one hundred years. Presses, vats and cellars carved out of limestone 'tufa' are evidence of past winemaking activities.
As part of his studies in oenology at Dijon, Jérôme Billard, the winemaker, worked at Château Petrus - an 8-month stage that was obviously successful as after qualifying he was then taken on by Dominus estate in Napa for a year, before heading on to Sacred Hill estate in New Zealand, giving a fine view of the world of wine before returning with his wife Elodie to take over the family's 12 hectare estate in 2003.
The Chante le Vent is made from 100% Chenin Blanc, the classic grape in Chinon. Bruised red apple, floor polish and sharp, refreshing acidity with a lovely texture. Jerome is the master of Chenin Blanc!
