Folding Hill Orchard Block Pinot Noir 2016
Folding Hill make ridiculous small amounts of their top cuvee, the Orchard Block: 75 cases! The wine making duos first vintage together after meeting at medical school in the UK was 1986. (made from grape concentrate in their student flat) They have come a long way since! The wines are really pure, unfiltered and unfined.
Dark and brooding for a Pinot, with out being over-extracted or over the top. A lovely spread of plum, black cherry, cranberry and kirsch flavours, underpinned by delicious spice notes. Sweet, ripe and highly concentrated, with well integrated toasty oak. There’s also some firm tannins giving a nice structure to the vibrant fruit.
