1966 was described by by the great Michael Broadbent as “one of my favourite vintages, which I have always described as a ‘lean, long-distance runner”. And happily we agree—it is one of those vintages we keep going back to as it is offering superb drinking now. Ducru is a second growth Chateau situated in Saint Julien.
Fully mature, this offers notes of toasted spices, raisins, coffee and just a hint of pot pourri. Finely balanced on the palate with soft, elegant tannins, a lean structure and a long finish. Still fresh and lively at 44 years old.
