Fernando Castilla Manzanilla Half
Manzanilla is a Sherry produced in the seaside port of Sanlucar de Barrameda near Jerez—with the seaside location said to impart a salty tang to the wine. It’s slightly lighter than Fino sherry traditionally an aperitif , to be had with tapas like olives, dried hams, and smoked almonds, but I love it with potato crisps being very unsophisticated! Fernando de Castilla is one of our favourite sherry houses.
Intense nose of nuts and dried apples. The palate has lots of apple and citrus notes with an attack of savoury, nutty tang, and a hint of sea salt.
Region: Spain, Jerez
Grape: Palomino
